On April 30th, 2026 at approximately 05:08 A.M., officers of the Pocono Township Police Department were called to the Billy's Pocono Diner for a used cooking oil theft in progress. Witnesses advised that two suspects fled in a rented Home Depot U-haul truck before officers arrived. A subsequent investigation led to identifying one of the suspects as Hermes Navarro-Cuevas, of Union City New Jersey, the defendant in this matter.

The defendant was charged with theft by unlawful taking, and possession instruments of a crime.
