On July 25, 2026 at approximately 4:35 am, Lower Swatara Township Police were dispatched to the 2000 block of North Union Street for a reported vehicle accident involving a motorcycle. Upon arrival, Lower Swatara Township Police found that the accident involved a motorcycle and a tractor trailer. Police provided life saving measures until Fire and EMS crews arrived and took over. The operator of the motorcycle was declared deceased on scene. The operator of the tractor trailer was not injured. Lower Swatara Township Police were assisted by members of the Lower Swatara Township Fire Department, Middletown Borough Fire Department, Life Lion EMS, Middletown Borough Police, Derry Township Police, and the Dauphin County Coroners Office. Lower Swatara Township Police are being assisted with the investigation by the Dauphin County Accident Reconstruction Team. At this time, the accident is currently in the initial stages of an extensive investigation. No further information will be released.
