Hempfield Township, PA -- Pennsylvania State Police filed three separate criminal cases against an Irwin man accused of home improvement fraud. 

Nolan Nichols, 45, is the owner of Nichols Pools and is accused of being hired to renovate or construct swimming pools but never completing the work. 

In June of 2026, a homeowner in Hempfield Township contacted state police about a possible home improvement theft and contractor fraud complaint involving Nichols. 

The homeowner told police they hired Nichols in April to renovate an in-ground swimming pool and construct a surrounding pool deck for $31,500. 

The contracted price eventually increased to $37,300 due to additional work, according to troopers. 

The victim relayed that she paid multiple deposits to Nichols for a total of $9,000, in addition to spending $20,000 in construction materials at Nichols' direction. 

Nichols allegedly asked for more money in multiple payments but never returned to complete the work, failed to deliver a custom pool liner that the victim paid for, and ultimately abandoned the project leaving it in unusable condition. 

Nichols is facing similar charges in two other criminal cases from March and June of this year.
