On July 20, 2026, at approximately 12:05 pm, Chief Savidge was patrolling the Valley Road and Tower Drive area when he noticed a vehicle with an expired inspection sticker. He followed the vehicle to Quarry Drive, where he initiated a traffic stop due to the inspection violation and other equipment issues. Upon investigation, it was discovered that the driver was operating on a suspended license and had two outstanding warrants from the Columbia County Sheriff's Office related to traffic offenses. The driver was subsequently taken into custody.
