Officers with the Columbia Borough Police Department and Detectives with the Lancaster County Detectives Office continue to investigate a fatal shooting that occurred in Columbia Borough this weekend. The shooting occurred in a residence in the 900 block of Plane Street in Columbia Borough on July 18. A juvenile male was deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. Police are investigating the case as a homicide, and the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office is expected to release the cause and manner of death, as well as the juvenile’s identity later this afternoon. An autopsy was performed this morning.
Investigators have interviewed all occupants of the house at the time the shooting occurred. Based on the preliminary investigation, there does not appear to be a threat to the public. Additional information will be provided as able to be released.

Officers with the Columbia Borough Police Department were dispatched to a shooting in the 900 block of Plane Street on Saturday, July 18 at approximately 9:45 p.m.
Officers arrived on scene and discovered a juvenile male deceased from a gunshot wound. The Lancaster County Detectives were called to assist with the investigation. Witnesses were interviewed and the scene was processed but the investigation is on-going and pending an autopsy by the Lancaster County Coroner's office.
