South Greensburg, PA -- South Greensburg Police arrested a man accused of entering a local business and stealing an employee's purse.
South Greensburg Police responded to Lappen Eye Care on Jefferson Street on July 13, 2026 for the report of a theft from inside of the business.
Police obtained surveillance footage from the business and observed a Honda CR-V parked in the eye care lot at approximately 9:45 a.m.
A male was seen gaining access to the building through a door that is not designated for patients and entered the employee break room inside of the building.
Inside of the employee break room, the suspect is seen removing a tan lunch bag purse from a hook before exiting the building.
The suspect was seen wearing tan shorts, a tan ball cap, and a blue T-shirt with "Ocean City" printed on the front.
Greensburg Police assisted South Greensburg with identifying the suspect seen in the video as Steven Bowling, 44.
Bowling was located at an address on Oakland Avenue wearing the same clothing that was observed in the surveillance video.
Inside of Bowling's vehicle, police located the stolen purse and observed a plastic bag containing methamphetamine on the floor of the vehicle, in addition to two marijuana bowls.
Bowling is facing charges for burglary, theft, receiving stolen property, criminal trespass, and possession of a controlled substance.
