Hanover Township Police Department's Motor Carrier Enforcement Team, Sgt. Ryan Cywinski and Ptlm. Celia Bond, want to thank True Value who invited us to participate in a Commercial Motor Vehicle Outreach Program during their safety meeting at True Value in Hanover Township.

The officers shared valuable insights with drivers on how to prepare for a safe journey and what to expect during an inspection. They covered key topics such as common driver and vehicle violations, the 37-step inspection process, and addressed questions from drivers on tires, lighting, and hours of service related to Electronic Logging Device (ELD) use.

In June, our Motor Carrier Enforcement Division conducted 28 inspections, resulting in several violations, which included 76 Out of Service violations, with some inspections having multiple Out of Service violations affecting both drivers and vehicles.

Given the increased commercial motor vehicle traffic in the area due to the expansion of The Hanover Industrial Park and other commercial properties, it is crucial that we prioritize roadway safety for our residents and commuters.
