We are excited to welcome the legendary Union Pacific “Big Boy” Steam Train to our area tomorrow!  

To ensure everyone’s safety, SHPD will have extra personnel on duty at crossings to monitor traffic and ensure spectators remain safe and compliant with the law.

Important Safety & Planning Information:

• Plan for Delays: Expect increased traffic and potential delays.  Please plan your travel accordingly.
• Stay Off Railroad Property: Remember, all railroad property is private. Trespassing is prohibited.
• Keep Your Distance: Please stay at least 25 feet away from the tracks at all times. The train may discharge hot steam unexpectedly, which can cause injury.
• Stay Hydrated: It will be humid tomorrow.  Stay cool and hydrated while watching.
• Drive Safely: With increased pedestrian and vehicular traffic, please exercise heightened situational awareness while driving.
