On the evening of June 26, 2026, the Montgomery Township Police Department responded to the sighting of a black bear in the the 300 block of North Wales Road. The Pennsylvania Game Commission was notified of the sighting and stated they would be checking the area and monitoring the sightings of any reported black bears in the area. The bear was last seen running into the wooded area between North Wales Road and 1200 Welsh Road (Montgomery Commons Shopping Center).
