As many of us are aware, Big Boy 4014 is going to be stopping at Pottstown on July 2nd from 3:30pm - 3:45pm. After it departs Pottstown, it will be traveling straight through Royersford Borough on its continued journey. 4014 is not expected to stop during its passthrough but we're not expecting that to deter people from seeing the largest steam engine ever made!
We have two crossings that you can view 4014 from: Main Street and Arch Street
That being said we have some requests:
-Parking is already a commodity in our borough. We're asking people to park in the borough lot at 251 2nd Ave and utilize the sidewalks to walk to the Main Street crossing or remain at the Arch Street crossing.
-Do not park on grass, within the red shaded areas, or anywhere along the railroad tracks
-Do not park on Main Street unless in a designated, and legal spot. You will be towed.
-Stay back at least 25 Feet from all railroad tracks. This includes drones. - 4014 is a steam train. The steam will burn you if you're too close.
-The red shaded areas are private property, DO NOT TRESPASS.
-Railroad tracks, and right of way are private property. DO NOT TRESPASS.
-Be aware of uneven surfaces in the viewing areas
