On May 31, 2026, at approximately 7:22 pm, officers responded to the 300 block of Paxinosa Road West for a motor vehicle accident with rollover. Upon arrival, officers observed a vehicle that had struck a rock and rolled onto the driver's side. Officers made contact with the driver, identified as Katelyn Cook, as well as two juvenile passengers. One of the juveniles was not secured in a booster seat at the time of the crash and both juveniles sustained minor injuries. An officer detected an odor of alcoholic beverage emanating from Cook's breath. Cook admitted to consuming alcohol prior to driving with the juveniles in the vehicle. Cook was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI and transported to the hospital for treatment and a blood draw. The results of the blood draw indicated Cook's BAC was 0.158%. Cook was charged by criminal complaint and arraigned by Judge Yetter, who set bail at $15,000 unsecured.
