On May 12th, 2026, at approximately 10:28 am, the police department was dispatched to two crashes which had just occurred. The first crash was to have occurred in the 1st block of West Marble Street and involved a vehicle striking a fire hydrant. The second crash was to be in the 400 block of Weaver Alley, involving a vehicle into a detached garage. Upon arriving at the scenes, it was determined both crashes involved the same vehicle and were in close proximity as Weaver Alley and West Marble Street intersect. It was determind the vehicle had turned left onto West Marble Street from South Market Street. The vehicle did not see traffic slowing in front of them and veered to the right to avoid a crash and struck the hydrant. The vehicle came back onto West Marble Street and stopped. A passerby told the driver to move the vehicle from the roadway and onto Weaver Alley. Upon turning onto Weaver Alley from West Marble Street, they struck the garage. The vehicle required towing from the scene due to the damage it sustained in both crashes.
