Cambria County District Attorney, Jessica F. Aurandt, releases the following;

On May 14, 2026 at approximately 11:30am., police were dispatched to the 600 Block of Somerset Street in the City of Johnstown where Frederick Myers had been shot and killed. As a result of this incident and subsequent investigation, the Johnstown Police Department filed the following criminal charges today against fifteen (15) year-old ANDRE BLACKWELL-SIMMS :

1) One count of Criminal Homicide

2) Two counts of Aggravated Assault

3) One count of Firearms Not To Be Carried Without a License 

4) One count of Possession of a Firearm by a Minor

5) One count of Recklessly Endangering Another Person; and,

6) One count of Terroristic Threats.

BLACKWELL-SIMMS was taken into custody today following a foot pursuit and was transported to the Cambria County Prison where he is awaiting arraignment. He has been charged as an adult pursuant to 42 Pa.C.S.A. 6302
