The U.S. Marshals arrested Mohamed, Anthony on Friday May 22nd, 2026.
New Kensington, PA -- New Kensington Police and Westmoreland County Detectives have an active arrest warrant for Anthony Mohamed, of Pittsburgh.
Mohamed is charged with six counts of attempted homicide, aggravated arson, arson, risking catastrophe, burglary, criminal trespass, criminal mischief, and nine counts of recklessly endangering another person.
Local and county police, along with the U.S. Marshals, have been attempting to locate Mohamed since late April of 2026.
Mohamed is wanted for intentionally starting a fire on the morning of March 29, 2026 in New Kensington that prompted rescues and residents jumping from a second floor to flee from flames.
Just before 8 a.m. on March 29, New Kensington Police, New Kensington Fire Department and EMS responded to a residence on McCargo Street for a duplex on fire with people jumping from the porch roof.
A total of six people were staying inside of the residence at the time, including three juveniles. All six were transported to local hospitals for varying degrees of injuries.
Through the course of the investigation, detectives obtained surveillance video from the neighborhood depicting a suspect's movements from 7:38 a.m. walking toward the residence on McCargo Street until smoke can be seen from a neighboring camera at 8:00 a.m.
Detectives positively identified the actor seen in the surveillance video as Anthony Mohamed.
A Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal ruled that the fire was intentionally set using a direct flame device to ignite combustibles within the structure.
Mohamed is currently wanted by the U.S. Marshals and New Kensington Police Department. Anyone with information is asked to contact 911 or New Kensington Police at 724-339-7533.
