Violent Domestic Attack Ends in $1 Million Bail
On May 19, 2026, at approximately 9:09 A.M., Warrington Police responded to Basswood Court for the report of a domestic disturbance in progress.
The victim related that 32-year-old Matthew Christopher Glassie, of Southampton, broke into the residence through a window following an argument with the victim. Officers arrived on scene and found Glassie outside the home shirtless, covered in scratches and small bleeding cuts, while yelling and cursing at police.
According to the victim, Glassie became enraged inside the residence, knocking items off a dresser and breaking glasses. The victim attempted to separate from him by locking him out of a room, but Glassie broke the door down and began strangling the victim while stating “You’re going to die.” Officers observed red marks on the victim’s neck consistent with the assault.
The victim was eventually able to escape, throw Glassie’s phone out a window, and lock him out of the residence before calling 911.
Glassie was taken into custody and transported to police headquarters for processing. He was arraigned by Judge Petrucci, who set bail at $1,000,000 or 10% cash. Due to Glassie currently being on probation, Bucks County Probation also lodged a detainer against him.
Criminal charges, and any discussion thereof, are merely allegations and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
