Police Say Man Brazenly Bought Beer While Allegedly Stealing Store Merchandise

On March 24, 2026, Warrington Police responded to Wegmans for the report of a retail theft.

Upon arrival, loss prevention officers reported that on March 22nd a male was observed selecting numerous items and concealing them into bags. The male then proceeded to the alcohol section where he purchased beer and presented identification.

A short time later, the male exited the store while failing to pay for $495.51 worth of merchandise.

The investigation identified the male as 32-year-old Karl Edward Zimmerman of Warrington.

On May 17th, Zimmerman turned himself in to Warrington Police for processing.

Criminal charges, and any discussion thereof, are merely allegations and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
