Scam Alert: Protect Yourself from Fraudulent Schemes

The Montour Township Police Department, in collaboration with the Office of the Attorney General, hosted a scam seminar on May 8, 2026, at the Township Building. The event aimed to educate the community on how to avoid falling victim to fraudulent schemes.

To protect yourself from scams, remember:

• Be cautious of unsolicited calls, emails, or messages asking for personal information or money.
• Verify the identity of the caller or sender before providing any information.
• Never give out sensitive information, such as social security numbers or financial details, to unknown individuals.
• Be wary of offers that seem too good to be true or pressure you to act quickly.
