On May 4, 2026, officers with the Steelton Borough Police Department apprehended a wanted individual following a brief foot pursuit in the borough.

On this date, Steelton Police were made aware that Najeem Gardner had an active warrant, with full extradition, for firearms violations. Officers were further advised that Gardner resided at the 100 block of N. Front Street in Steelton.

Officers responded to the residence to execute the warrant. Upon arrival, officers made contact with a resident at the front door. During this encounter, Gardner fled the residence through a side window and began running across the rooftops.

A foot pursuit ensued, during which Gardner was taken into custody shortly thereafter. 

Gardner was subsequently charged with resisting arrest, flight to avoid apprehension, and evading arrest or detention on foot. Additionally, Gardner has three outstanding warrants and was transported to Dauphin County Central Booking for processing and later remanded to Dauphin County Prison.

The Steelton Borough Police Department acknowledges the coordinated efforts of the assisting officers in safely resolving this incident.
