On Sunday, February 1, 2026 at approximately 9:29am, Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Main Street for the report of a stabbing. Through investigation, it was determined that the defendant, Marcus Burns and the victim got into a verbal altercation which ultimately turned physical. During the physical portion, the victim had reached for a knife and stabbed the defendant in the leg to gain her freedom. There was also a Protection from Abuse Order in place that prohibits the defendant from being at the residence or having contact with the victim. The defendant was arrested without incident and transported to the hospital where he was medically cleared before being housed at Montgomery County Correctional Facility and is held on $12,000 bail.
