On Monday, January 19, 2026, Steelton Borough Police Chief Shawki Lacey participated in the MLK Day of Reading celebration at Representative Dave Madsen's office organized by children's book author and Super Reader Floyd Stokes. Chief Lacey joined Borough Council members and Steelton-Highspire School District staff to provide readings and free books for kids, honoring Dr. King's legacy of education and inclusion. We appreciate everyone who attended the event and want to send a big thank you to Rep. Madsen for hosting & opening his space to the community!
