KITTANNING BOROUGH, ARMSTRONG COUNTY:
Armstrong County District Attorney Katie Charlton announced the sentencing of Jamil James Johnson, 41, of Ford City Borough, on gun and drug charges. Johnson was charged on February 5, 2025 by Trooper Andrew Andryka of the Pennsylvania State Police Troop D Vice unit with illegally possessing a firearm, a felony, and felony possession of cocaine with the intent to deliver.
The charges were the result of the execution of a search warrant on Johnson’s 5th Avenue residence by members of the Pennsylvania State Police, the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, and Southern Armstrong Regional Police Department. During the course of the execution of the warrant, Johnson was detained and found to be in possession of cocaine as well as methamphetamine. Other items that were located in the residence included a digital scale and a loaded Savage model 64 .22 LR caliber rifle.
The Office of the District Attorney secured a guilty plea to both felony charges. On December 18, 2025, the Honorable Chase G. McClister sentenced Johnson to incarceration in the state department of corrections to a term of 30 months to 60 months for the gun conviction and 24 months to 48 months for the drug conviction.
