As we prepare to celebrate New Year’s Eve, the South Heidelberg Police Department is committed to ensuring every member of our community makes it home safely to welcome the first sunrise of the year.  Whether you are attending a large gathering or a quiet evening with friends, please keep the following safety tips in mind:

• 🚗 Designate Your Driver: If your celebration includes alcohol, secure a designated driver before the first toast, or utilize a rideshare service.
• 👀 Be a Responsible Host: If you are hosting a party, take responsibility for ensuring all your guests have a safe, sober plan for getting home.
• 🐾 Protect Your Pets: The sounds of fireworks and loud celebrations can be terrifying for animals. Please keep your pets indoors, secure, and in a quiet space.

        Our officers will be on patrol tonight, focused on keeping our roads safe and ready to assist anyone in need.  Let's work together to make this a night to remember for all the right reasons.
