The Citizen’s Police Academy is a free program designed to give participants an inside look at police operations through speakers, demos, tours, and hands-on activities. This course is designed to empower citizens with accurate information about the police and criminal justice system, allowing community members to make informed decisions regarding issues involving the police.

The Citizen’s Police Academy is scheduled to be held every Wednesday, starting January 28, 2026, and will continue weekly through the end of March 2026. Classes are held at the Springettsbury Township Building from 6:00pm – 8:00pm. Space is limited.

• Springettsbury Township Police Department – History and station tour.
• Traffic enforcement and motor vehicle collision investigation
• Narcotics and criminal investigations
• York County Forensic Lab tour
• York County Quick Response Team demonstration
• Firearms Training Simulator
• York County 911 tour
• York County Prison tour

Must Register By January 14, 2026

Open to ages 18+, with priority for Springettsbury Township residents.
