Milford, Pa.-Pike County District Attorney Ray Tonkin announced charges against a Pike County man for Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration. Detectives from the District Attorney’s Office Criminal Investigation Division charged[1]Moises Valentin, age 42, of Canadensis, formerly of Bushkill, Pennsylvania, with the charges of Failure to Provide Accurate Registration Information, Failure to Verify Address with Pennsylvania State Police, and Failure to Comply with Registration of Sexual Offenders, all felonies.
According to the affidavit of probable cause supporting the charges, Detectives at the District Attorney’s Office were assigned to investigate Moises Valetin Jr. for failing to appear during his required address verification period of 9/22/2025 – 10/1/2025 to verify his address with the Pennsylvania State Police. Valentin is a lifetime registrant under Pennsylvania’s Megan’s Law for a conviction of forcible touching in New York State. During the investigation, detectives learned that Valentin had employment that he had not reported for several years. Valentin admitted he failed to register on time, stating it was because he did not receive his letter. Valentin stated he had lost his keys to his mailbox.
Magisterial District Judge Randy Schmalzle set bail at $5,000.00. Moises Valentin was taken to Pike County Correctional Facility in lieu of posting bail.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 16, 2025.
