Rest Easy K-9 Revo

It is with deep sorrow that the Perkasie Borough Police Department announces the sudden and unexpected passing of our beloved canine, Revo.  K-9 Revo loyally and competently served our department and the local community for nearly ten years prior to his retirement in December of 2024.

K-9 Revo successfully completed his initial certification training in criminal apprehension, tracking and narcotics detection in North Carolina in September of 2015.  He returned to Perkasie to begin his service, pairing with veteran K-9 officer Tom Brun.  The two commenced an illustrious and decorated career spanning nearly a decade.

It was evident from the onset that the team would prove to be formidable.  Among other ongoing maintenance training, K-9 Revo attended annual national certifications in narcotics detection through the United States Police Canine Association and also locally through Bucks County several times per year.  In a career spanning ten years, the team masterfully achieved passing scores in each and every certification attended.  During one such event, K-9 Revo placed eighth overall out of all the dogs participating from multiple agencies throughout the tri-state area, including major departments such as the NYPD. But their triumphs on the street were of a much greater consequence.  K-9 Revo made countless successful narcotics detections throughout the course of his career leading to criminal arrests, both in the midst of proactive vehicle stops while conducting interdiction work, as well as through his participation in drug-related search warrants.  He skillfully undertook a significant number of tracks, both for fleeing suspects as well as for missing and endangered individuals.  In one particular incident in 2016, the team was summoned to a neighboring jurisdiction to assist in locating an elderly dementia patient who had wandered away from home hours prior.  In the course of his track for the missing subject, Revo successfully located her lying incapacitated in a field at the rear of her property.  She had been exposed to freezing temperatures for an extended period and was on the verge of death.  She received immediate emergency medical aid and ultimately survived.  K-9 Revo and Officer Brun received a commendation for their performance.  These and a vast array of other duties were what earned Revo such praise and admiration.

K-9 Revo was retired in December of 2024 after sustaining an injury.  He transitioned into the charmed life of a much adored and spoiled pet after being adopted by Officer Brun and his family. Revo blissfully lived out his remaining days loving on his human siblings as well as his canine sister, Nala, soaking in the sun at the Jersey Shore, and enjoying a laid-back life on the farm.

Revo was not merely a pet, but rather a loved and cherished partner and protector for Officer Brun.  The pair were inseparable, spending Revo's entire career living together while serving our community.  This is a devastating loss not only for Officer Brun but for the Perkasie Police Department family collectively.

"Thanks for your service, K-9 Revo.  You've done well, good and faithful servant.  Rest easy.  You will be missed, dear friend". Officer Brun
