North Huntingdon, PA -- Two men were arrested after an undercover drug sting revealed the sale of illegal narcotics from a vape shop in North Huntingdon Township.
Westmoreland County Drug Task Force, County Detectives, agents with the Attorney General's Office, and North Huntingdon Township Police conducted an undercover drug investigation with the purpose of purchasing illegal narcotics from Star Smoke and Vape Shop located on Lincoln Highway.
Investigators previously executed a search warrant on the Star Smoke and Vape Shop in February as a part of an ongoing investigation where more than 600 grams of illegal items were seized and submitted for further testing.
On November 12, officers working in an undercover capacity attempted to purchase vapes containing Delta 8 which are illegal in Pennsylvania.
The clerk working behind the counter supplied undercover officers with several vapes containing Delta 8 before county detectives entered the store and the clerk attempted to hide the vapes from view.
The clerk, identified as Al Merdaie Mohamed, said he was filling in for a friend at the vape shop.
El Hacen Mohamed Najem, of North Huntingdon, entered the store and identified himself as an employee and was subsequently arrested.
A second search warrant was executed on the vape shop on November 12, 2025 where several illegal products were seized including Delta 8 products, THCA flower products, edibles, and dab wax products.
Both men were arraigned on several narcotics related offenses and remanded to the Westmoreland County Prison after failing to post $100,000 bail.
