On November 1st, 2025, at approximately 2:42 pm, the police department was dispatched to the 500 block of East Simpson Street for a crash which just occurred. It was determined the crash was a hit and run crash, as the striking vehicle left the scene. The remaining driver advised they were eastbound on East Simpson Street and had to stop their vehicle for traffic in front of them. They were rear ended and pushed into concrete steps along the sidewalk, which were also damaged. Both vehicles pulled over and the other driver left the scene when the struck driver mentioned calling the police. The fleeing driver was described as a shorter Hispanic male, with a passenger in the vehicle being a heavier set Hispanic female. The vehicle they were driving was described as a black Honda with a spray painted blue rim on the front passenger side and a missing front bumper. There was to be a bald eagle and American flag print on the rear of the vehicle was well. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the police department.
