On Wednesday, October 22, 2025, Millersville Borough Police Department will participate in PennDOT's 29th annual Operation Safe Stop.

Operation Safe Stop is a proactive approach to educate the motoring public that passing a stopped school bus, when children are loading or unloading, is both dangerous and illegal.  Law enforcement agencies, school transportation providers, pupil transportation associations and PennDOT have combined their efforts to raise public awareness about the potential consequences of these traffic violations and reduce the occurrence of illegal school bus passes.  On this day, participating school districts and police departments are asked to document any illegal passes that occur.  Officers will follow buses and watch at bus stops to enforce violators.  They could even be assigned to ride on the buses along with the children!
