On Wednesday night, the North Charleston Police Department (NCPD) joined fellow law enforcement agencies from across the nation for a special dinner and awards ceremony at the North Charleston Coliseum.

Hosted by the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the event brought together more than 900 officers from 35 agencies nationwide to recognize their dedication and achievements in drug interdiction and the fight against drug trafficking.

A heartfelt highlight of the evening was the tribute to Devarjaye “DJ” Daniel, a courageous young warrior whose faith, strength, and love for serving others continue to inspire. DJ was named an honorary member of all 35 attending agencies, and NCPD Deputy Chief Rick Keys had the honor of officially welcoming him into the North Charleston Police Department family.
