On Sunday December 18, 2016 at approximatelt 1915 hrs. Sgt. Heim was on patrol in the area of 800 blk. Prangley Ave. Sgt. Heim observed a male enter a 2007 GMC Yukon. The driver accelerated the vehicle causing the tires to squeal. The driver then failed to stop for a posted stop sign at Prangley Ave. and Pearl St. 

Sgt . Heim followed the vehicle and saw that the driver failed to stop for an additional (2) stops signs as the driver continued north on Pearl St. Sgt. Heim activated his emergency lights and siren and attempted to initiate a vehicle stop. The driver refused to stop and led Sgt. Heim and other Officers on a vehicle pursuit. The pursuit lasted approximately (4) minutes and traversed several streets in the southwest and northwest areas of Lancaster City. 

The vehicle was found abandoned at the intersection of Race Ave. and W. James St. The driver had fled the vehicle on foot. 

Sgt. Heim conducted a follow up investiagtion and was able to positively identify the driver of the vehicle during the pursuit as Travis Lee Daily. Sgt. Heim filed a Criminal Complaint charging Daily with Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Police (F3), Driving Vehicle as Safe Speed (S), Driving While Operating Privilege is Suspended or Revoked (S), Careless Driving (S) and Stop Signs and Yield Signs (S) (8 counts). 

Shortly after midnight on 12/19/2016 Daily walked into the lobby of the station and was taken into custody. Daily was held for arraignment and committed to LCP in lieu of $20,000 bail. 

All persons accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
