On June 17, 2025 at the Berks County Chiefs of Police Association meeting, we had the immense privilege of recognizing six incredible individuals from Penn State Health Medical Group - Robesonia Family Medicine for their invaluable assistance following a serious motor vehicle crash on August 29, 2024.
Their immediate response to a severe two-vehicle accident near their office at the intersection of Penn Avenue and Big Spring Road in Heidelberg Township demonstrated exceptional bravery and quick thinking.
Despite hazardous conditions, including a vehicle fire and heavy rush hour traffic, they selflessly rushed to the scene to help the victims. Both drivers were ejected from their vehicles, yet this courageous team provided critical medical care until emergency services arrived.
While one victim tragically succumbed to their injuries, it's crucial to acknowledge the unwavering efforts of these individuals who did everything possible to save a life. Their rapid response, compassion, and dedication to the well-being of our community are truly commendable and deserving of this recognition.
Their actions embody the spirit of Conrad Weiser Community and the highest ideals of civic duty and community service. Therefore, the Berks County Chiefs of Police Association was proud to present them with the 2024 Citizens Award!
