Derry Township, PA -- Pennsylvania State Police, in cooperation with the Westmoreland County District Attorney's Office, charged a Blairsville woman with homicide by vehicle following a deadly accident last year.
Ashley Kelley, 33, is charged with homicide by vehicle, driving under the influence, recklessly endangering another person, and related summary offenses.
According to troopers, Kelley was under the influence of marijuana at the time of the accident in February of 2024 that claimed the life of an Indiana County woman.
Regina Endress died after Kelley's van allegedly crossed the center line of Route 217 and collided with Endress' vehicle head on.
Kelley allegedly told troopers that by the time she realized she was in the oncoming lane, she was unable to avoid the collision.
A child in Endress' vehicle was flown to a hospital for treatment after the accident.
Troopers said Kelley also had two children in her minivan at the time of the crash.
Kelley was arraigned and released on $15,000 unsecured bond.
