Incident Summary
On August 7, 2024, a report was filed with the Lower Moreland Township Police Department regarding theft and unauthorized use of business checks and gas cards for a business, located on the 2700 block of Philmont Ave.
The investigation revealed that between October 2023 and August 2024, there were approximately $169,281.00 in unauthorized transactions on the business's bank account. The transactions were made using gas cards assigned to employees, with each card having its own individual assigned card number. The cards were found to be used Susan Staples, an employee of the business.
Additionally, multiple cell phones and iPads were ordered on the business's cellular phone account without authorization. Packages were delivered to the business between September 21, 2023, and August 4, 2024 addressed to Susan Staples. Business checks from the business's bank account were also found to have been forged and endorsed by Susan Staples. The checks were cashed between October 23, 2023, and January 5, 2024.
Based on the evidence, an arrest warrant was applied for and granted for Susan Staples. Susan Staples turned herself into police on April 4th.
