On July 7th at 5:47 PM, officers from the Susquehanna Regional Police Department were dispatched to the intersection of Anderson Ferry Road and Ore Mine Road in East Donegal Township to respond to a vehicle collision. The incident involved three vehicles: an Oldsmobile Ciera driven by Gabriel Sullivan, a motorcycle operated by Kyle Costrello and a Ford Bronco that was stopped at the stop sign on Ore Mine Road.
Sullivan was traveling westbound on Anderson Ferry Road when he crossed into the eastbound lane while turning onto Ore Mine Road. As he did so, his vehicle collided with the motorcycle that was traveling eastbound. This collision caused the motorcyclist, Costrello, to be ejected from the motorcycle, resulting in fatal injuries. Following the initial impact, Sullivan's vehicle also struck the stopped Ford Bronco as he continued onto Ore Mine Road.
Sullivan and the occupants of the Ford Bronco escaped the collision unharmed. After investigating the incident, the Susquehanna Regional Police Department, along with the Northwest Lancaster County Crash Team, charged Sullivan with Careless Driving Resulting in Unintentional Death. Sullivan is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
