The Palmer Lake Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Full-Time Police Officer (Recruit or Current POST-Certified). The position is responsible for performing public safety functions and for providing for the enforcement of federal, state, and municipal law.
Palmer Lake is a Statutory Town located along the beautiful Rocky Mountains in the northwest corner of El Paso County. Palmer Lake has a population of 2,587 (2023 census) and features several local businesses and attractions from hiking to fishing. Despite the small appearance the town hosts numerous events that bring upwards of 30,000 attendees.
REQUIREMENTS:
-Requires high school diploma or GED
-Colorado Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification by the date of hire; or if hired, will attend a Colorado Peace Officer Standards and Training Academy as a Sponsored Cadet
-Valid Colorado driver’s license with a safe driving record
-Ability to work shift work assigned to various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
-Must be at least 21 years of age.
Starting Salary: $54,080/year
Applicants are encouraged to observe at least one patrol shift with a Palmer Lake Police Officer. Ride-alongs can be scheduled after application submittal.
