HIRING ANNOUNCMENT
The Robeson Township Police Department is seeking applicants for the position of full-time police officer. The Robeson Township Police Department plans to hire one, possibly two full-time officers with the anticipated start date of January 1, 2025. The Robeson Township Police Department currently consists of six officers and the Chief of Police.
Applicants must have completed the Municipal Police Officer Education and Training Certification (Act 120) or qualify for a waiver; must possess a valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License; must be physically and mentally fit to perform the duties of a Police Officer.
The application submission deadline is November 18, 2024.
The starting salary for a new officer is based upon experience, upon recommendation by the Chief, and approval from the Robeson Township Board of Supervisors. The starting salary range is $66,677 to $99,044. In 2026, the salary for a patrolman 1st class is $104,984. If an officer is hired at a rate of $84,389 (4+ years of experience), that officer will be at the 1st class rate after their probationary year.
Work Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 0600-1800; 1200-0000; 1800-0600.
Probation: 1 year from date of hire.
Vacations: Up to 2 years 96 hrs., 2-4 years 120 hrs., 5-9 years 180 hrs., 10-14 years.,192 hrs. 15+ years 240 hrs.
Compensation time: Officers can choose to accrue comp time in lieu of payment for overtime worked.
Personal leave: 48 hours per year.
Sick leave: 160 hours per year with buy back once cap is reached.
Bereavement leave provided.
Holidays: 15 paid holidays.
Clothing Allowance provided.
Health care: Provided with 2% deduction. Copay reimbursement of $3,00.00 per year, roll over to $6,000 stipend available. A $5,100 medical opt-out stipend is available.
Longevity Bonus: $100 per year of service annually, max $3000.
Retirement: Retire at age 52.5 after serving 25 years of service.
