Irwin, PA -- The Westmoreland County Detective Bureau arrested and charged an Irwin man with rape, indecent assault, corruption of minors, endangering the welfare of children and several related criminal offenses. 

Jason Cush, 43, was arrested on Thursday, June 27, 2024 after detectives launched an investigation in April. 

Law enforcement was notified after the Westmoreland County Children's Bureau received a referral indicating a female minor was raped. 

Detectives interviewed the victim who said Cush had been touching her inappropriately for approximately two years. 

She told police Cush would prevent her internet access if she refused to let him touch her. 

The victim told police she preserved text messages from Cush on an iPad. 

Detectives observed messages that revealed Cush talking about arrangements later that evening and threatening to lock her out of internet access if she did not comply with his sexual advances. 

Investigators submitted the iPad for forensic examination and discovered two videos depicting a sexual interaction. 

The victim told police she recorded the incidents as proof because she did not think anyone would believe her if she only reported it. 

When questioned by detectives, Cush claimed he suffers from conscious black outs.

Cush claimed he did not remember the incidents, but believed he needed help and was in need of medication. 

Cush was arrested by county detectives and denied bail upon arraignment.
