Unity Township, PA -- Pennsylvania State Police, in cooperation with the Westmoreland County District Attorney's Office, charged a Unity Township woman with attempted homicide after a reported shooting.
Marissa Hall, 33, was charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, simple assault, terroristic threats and recklessly endangering another person.
Troopers were called to Rose Garden Terrace in Unity Township in the early morning hours of May 22, 2024 for the report of a woman knocking on doors and screaming for help.
Police located the victim at a nearby store shortly after.
She told investigators she was visiting Hall at her residence in Rose Garden Terrace and the two were consuming alcohol before a verbal argument turned physical.
The victim told troopers she went outside to separate herself, and Hall locked her out of the house.
As the victim was yelling at Hall in an attempt to obtain her car keys, she said Hall retrieved a handgun and pointed the firearm at her and fired one shot.
Troopers interviewed several neighbors who heard the commotion and heard a gunshot being fired.
A search warrant revealed a spent .380 casing outside of the back door and a bullet fragment was located in the backyard, according to troopers.
Hall allegedly told troopers that she discharged one round from the firearm because she wanted to get rid of the victim.
She was arraigned and remanded to the Westmorealnd County Prison without bail.
