Pennsylvania State Police charged a man and woman accused of taking a pastor's credit cards from his wallet in Smithton Borough.
Investigators charged Jarell Carpenter, 35, and Erica Bloom, 40, both of Monessen, with theft and other related charges.
The two are accused of stealing three debit cards and an American Legion membership card from the pastor's wallet while he was preaching inside Hope Memorial Lutheran Church.
Police said the cards were used at Jack's Supermarket and another business in Smithton Borough.

Smithton, PA -- Pennsylvania State Police are investigating an alleged theft that occurred outside of Hope Memorial Lutheran Church in Smithton Borough.
The pastor of the church reported it to troopers on March 10, 2024, after discovering his credit cards were missing from his wallet while he was preaching inside the church.
The church is located near the intersection of Locust and Fort Street.
Police said the cards were used at Jack's Supermarket and another business in Smithton Borough.
