The Lower Southampton Township Police Department is proud to announce that a $13,000 grant was recently awarded to the agency through the Safety First Grant Program sponsored by Norfolk Southern.  This program supports first responders and their efforts to keep communities safe and operationally prepared to provide services in an emergency.  Northfolk Southern’s rail system runs through Lower Southampton Township and is difficult to access with conventional equipment. 

A Polaris Ranger Utility Vehicle (UTV) was selected to increase the agency’s capabilities in search and rescue, disaster responses, K-9 and drone deployment, and policing in the most environmentally demanding areas of the Township.

Additionally, the Department would like to acknowledge the efforts of the sales and service team from East Coast Cycle Center of Bensalem and National Sign Shop of Feasterville for their design work.  This grant opportunity would not have been possible without the efforts of State Senator Frank Farry and his staff for introducing this particular funding during the Police Grant and Funding Workshop the agency attended on September 26, 2023.
