Driving is a "privilege" and not a right bestowed upon you by big brother. That "privilege" can be taken away by big brother for a variety of reasons to include driving under suspension DUI related FIVE TIMES. Recently one of our peacekeepers encountered such a situation and chose to cut the operator a break and to file the charges in lieu of placing the individual in custody and taking them directly to the old cross bar hotel. Now we are stuck with a vehicle that cannot be moved; instead of impounding the car the benevolent peacekeeper again cut the operator a break and had her contact a friend to drive her home. This could have and should have been the end of the story BUT it was not. The friend who arrived to be the driver had outstanding warrants for her arrest and was placed into custody and a reservation was made at the old cross bar hotel. The moral of the story is ....drive only if you are legally permitted to do so and make sure your friends don't have outstanding warrants when you are in need!
