On April 08, 2016, at approx. 1702 hrs., officers from the Lancaster City Bureau of Police responded to the 300 block of Winthrop Drive, Lancaster, PA for a report of a stabbing.  Upon arrival in the area Officer Ben Bradley observed a male matching the given description standing on the sidewalk holding a knife in his right hand.  As Officer Bradley approached the suspect in his marked police cruiser the suspect tossed the knife approximately 10-feet away from where he was standing.  Other officers arrived on scene and the suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Standing near the suspect and leaning against a car was one of the two victims of this domestic assault, the suspect’s father, Carl Frey (76).  Officers observed that the father had significant bleeding coming from the area of his neck.  Officer Shannon Mazzante retrieved a towel from their residence in order to begin first aid measures with Mr. Frey until EMS arrived on scene.  Mr. Frey was transported to the Lancaster General Hospital and was ushered into the operating room.  He is listed as guarded condition.  The second victim was the suspect’s step-mother, Patricia Lee (59).  Ms. Lee sustained a stab wound to her right hand.  She was also treated at Lancaster General Hospital and released.

Arrested and Charged with one count of Criminal Attempt Homicide, and two counts of Aggravated Assault, Domestic Violence:        FREY, Daniel Eric  W/M/41    Currently homeless

Charges brought by Detective Matthew Odenthal before MDJ Adam J. Witkonis.  FREY to be transported to Central Booking for arrangement on said charges.
