On July 30, 2023 at 1:31 am the Oxford Police were dispatched to the 200 Blk Penn Ave for a report of a domestic disturbance.  Upon arrival, Officers made contact with the victim who stated that the actor, Edwin Chapin Jr, 51, of Oxford, had assaulted her inside the residence.  The Officers observed injuries that supported her statement and requested that EMS be dispatched to evaluate her.  The victim was then transported to the Hospital for treatment.  Contact was made with Chapin who was asked to step outside of the residence while an interview was conducted.  After further investigation, Chapin was placed into custody and transported to the Oxford Police Department where he was processed and turned over to Constables for transport to Chester County Prison. 

On July 30, 2023 Chapin was video arraigned at Chester County Prison and was released after posting 10% of a $15,000 bail.  A preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 8, 2023 at the Oxford District Court.
