On Wednesday, January 13, 2016, around 5:30pm, the West Shore Regional Police were dispatched to the 400 block of South Front Street, Wormleysburg. They received a report of a male soliciting people for money in that area. Officers arrived in the area and observed a male matching the description that had been provided and carrying a sign soliciting for money. They spoke with the male who was identified as 33 year old Matthew Jerod MYERS, from the 200 block of Verbeke Street, Harrisburg.
Further investigation found that there was an active warrant for MYERS' arrest out of Bedford County. MYERS was placed under arrest and a search of his person revealed several items of drug paraphernalia. MYERS was taken to the Cumberland County Prison where he was processed and charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. MYERS was arraigned, via video, by MDJ Silcox. He was committed to the Cumberland County Prison on $5,000.00 bail to await a Preliminary Hearing before MDJ Beckley.
