The homicide victim has been identified as:
Omaly Flores, 20-year-old male, Lancaster City resident.
The initial investigation has revealed that this shooting does not appear to have been a random act. Investigators are continuing to seek information.
PREVIOUSLY RELEASED INFORMATION:
On 6 February 2016, at approx. 7:13 PM, officers from the Lancaster Bureau of Police were dispatched to Lancaster General Hospital, 555 N. Duke Street, for a shooting victim who had been brought into the emergency room by private vehicle. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced deceased shortly after arriving at the hospital. Officers were directed to the 300 block of S. Lime Street, where the crime was believed to have occurred. Officers responded to that area and immediately secured the scene.
The victim has been identified as a 20 year old Lancaster male, but his identity is being withheld while investigators attempt to locate next of kin. Investigators were notified and responded to the hospital and to the crime scene. Investigators are currently processing the crime scene for evidence and are interviewing witnesses.
