On May 29, 2023 at 12:30 am the Oxford Police conducted a traffic stop in the 500 Blk Market Street on a vehicle for a lighting equipment violation.  Contact was made with the operator, Garry Franklin, 31, of Oxford who exhibited multiple signs of intoxication.  Franklin completed several field sobriety tests but did refuse to submit to chemical testing.  Officers determined that Franklin was incapable of safely operating a motor vehicle and he was placed into custody for DUI.  A Penn Dot search also determined that Franklin was operating the vehicle without a valid drivers license or valid insurance. Franklin was transported to the Oxford Police where he was processed and turned over to a family member.  A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for July 18, 2023 at the Oxford District Court.
