Many people recognize Memorial Day as the unofficial start of summer. That may be true, but there are those that never had the chance to come home.

Memorial Day is a day to honor the men and women who died while serving in the United States military.

We will honor these heroes at our annual New Cumberland Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 29 at 11:30 am. The parade route is Bridge Street from Park Avenue to Third Street. 

It is a day to contemplate the cost of freedom. All gave some, some gave all. Freedom is not free.
