News Release

May 17, 2023

Incidents:

Crash – On April 28, 2023, at 4:18pm, there was a crash at Bellefonte Ave and N. Fairview St. Unit 1 was traveling south bound on N. Fairview St, stopped at the stop sign at Bellefonte Ave and proceeded without clearance onto Bellefonte Ave, hitting Unit 2. Unit 1 was towed from the scene.

Crash – On April 29, 2023, at 3:25pm, there was a crash at Youngs Ave and Woods Ave. Unit 1, being a bicycle was travelling south bound on Youngs Ave and was unable to stop prior to reaching Woods Ave, hitting Unit 2. The bicyclist had minor injuries.

Crash – On May 9, 2023, at 7:10pm, there was a crash at W. Bald Eagle St and S. Highland St. Unit 1 was traveling south bound on S. Highland St, stopped at the stop sign with the intersection of W. Bald Eagle St. Unit 1 then proceeded into the intersection hitting Unit 2 who was traveling east bound on W. Bald Eagle St. Unit 2 was towed from the scene.

Crash – On May 10, 2023, at 4:05pm, there was a crash at S. Jones St and Linden St. Unit 1, being a bicycle was travelling east bound on Linden St with no brakes and proceeded through the intersection of S. Jones St hitting Unit 2. The bicyclist was transported to the Emergency Room by EMS.

Crash – On May 11, 2023, at 6:13pm, there was a crash at 870 Woods Ave. Unit 1 was traveling west bound on Woods Ave at a high rate of speed and lost control, hitting the residence there. A juvenile passenger was treated at Geisinger Danville, and the operator of Unit 1 was treated at UMPC Lock Haven.

Hit and Run – Between May 12, 2023, at 5:45pm and May 12, 2023, at 7:30am, a truck parked in the 100 block of W. Water St had hit’s mirror hit by another vehicle. No information was left by the striking vehicle.

Crash – On May 12, 2023, at 2:05pm, a vehicle struck a pole in the parking lot of 22 Cree Dr.

Hit and Run – On May 14, 2023, at 3:53pm, a vehicle parked in the 10 block of E. Church St had it’s mirror struck and the striking vehicle did not leave information.

Offenses Charged:

  1. Mubarik Graves, 32, Jersey Shore, was cited with having a fraudulent inspection sticker. On April 22, 2023, at 1:25pm, Graves was stopped by an officer due to an unrelated incident. During the course of the traffic stop, it was found that the vehicle Graves was operating had a fraudulent inspection sticker.
  2. Matthew Russell, 31, Lock Haven, was arrested for Theft from The Family Dollar, 300 Bellefonte Ave. Russell was the assistant manager of The Family Dollar and was in charge of the night deposits. Over the course of three days, Russell failed to make the deposits taking a total of $6,436.61.
  3. Nadir Donte Johnson, 20, Elkins Park, was cited with Carrying a False Identification Card and Purchase, Consumption, Possession or Transportation of Liquor or Malt or Brewed Beverages. On May 6, 2023, at 2:26pm, Johnson attempted to use a false ID card to purchase alcohol from the Fine Wine and Good Spirits store at 120 E. Walnut St.
  4. Tatia Lea Blackwell, 56, Lock Haven, was cited with an ordinance violation for Dogs to be Leashed on City Property. On May 11, 2023, at 11:30am, Blackwell’s three dogs were running loose on the levee near Grove St. The dogs chased a female causing her to fall.
  5. Zane Carrington, 23, Rome, PA, was cited with Public Drunkenness and Disorderly Conduct. On May 12, 2023, at 1:22pm, Carrington was intoxicated in the area of the 10 block of E. Main St. Carrington walked up to an unoccupied police vehicle and began beating on the windows, then ran across Mill St, knocking a sign over and falling to the ground.
  6. Kyle Brown, 33, Lock Haven, was arrested for Simple Assault. On May 16, 2023, at 5:21pm, Brown hit Tiffany Spotts in the head and face during a domestic dispute at their residence.
