Pittsburgh, PA -- The Office of Westmoreland County District Attorney Nicole W. Ziccarelli was proud to take part in the opening ceremony of the 12th annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for the Pennsylvania Special Olympics.
Over the course of the next three days, the torch will be carried over 150 miles from Pittsburgh to State College by various law enforcement and first responder agencies from around the region.
While officers are taking turns and running each leg of the course, they are simultaneously raising money and awareness for the Special Olympics of PA.
The Pirates organization hosted the official kick off to the Law Enforcement Torch Run for the Special Olympics of PA at PNC Park on Tuesday, May 16.
The team of runners from the Westmoreland County District Attorney's Office will carry the torch on Wednesday morning.
