We have been seeing a rise in thefts from vehicles lately. Although our officers do their best to patrol neighborhoods and roads, they cannot be everywhere all the time. The vehicle entry offenders typically target unlocked vehicles and look for valuables that are left in vehicles.
We kindly ask that you take steps to prevent the thieves from making you a victim by taking the following steps.
-Report any suspicious activity you hear or observe by dialing 911.
-Do not keep any valuables inside your vehicle (ie. wallets, money, electronics).
-If your vehicle is parked outside a garage, lock all doors before going to sleep.
-Do not keep your keys inside your unlocked vehicle.
-Remind friends, family and neighbors to do the same.
If you have cameras installed at your residence and obtain any surveillance footage, you can help us by providing the video to our department to try and identify any suspects. Most times crime requires opportunity and if we can eliminate opportunity, we can reduce crime.
Thank you and always remember, we are here for you!
